Etchings based on close up photographs of scrapes, scratches and dents on cars
The viewer will inevitably be caught unaware of the ephemeral abstract illegibility of the images: aside from the clues given by the works’ titles (the brand names of the cars of origin). They could easily be mistaken for icy, barren landscapes or satellite images of earth. Meditations on life and death, as well as clever interpretations on the traditional genre of landscape, the prints depict partially abstracted vehicular terrains where the line between comfort and catastrophe is just around the corner.
